This is a place for those Survivors who have passed on. We would like to remember them for the good times we shared, and the struggle we faced together.

Myndi (Wirtanen) Clark (MP 1989-1992)

1975-2006

Myndi was one of the Junior Staff when I arrived at Mountain Park, and I will always remember her as being one of the few REAL people I knew there. She truly cared for us, and would do anything to help a girl who needed her. She died of cancer on September 15, 2006 in Canoga Park, California. She leaves a husband and three beautiful daughters. Myndi was 31 years old.

Angela Aluknavich
d. 9 Mar 1995

Angela was the best friend of Christine Heisler before going to MP. She was one of the sweetest girls during her stay. She was always very quiet, very shy. Angela died from complications with anti-depressants after leaving Mountain Park. This is one of the reasons we continue to fight against these kinds of places. No teenager should have to be on dangerous anti-depressants because of what we suffered there.

 

Beth Lyngaas
9/13/1976 - 10/7/2007

Beth graduated in 1994 with me and was Valedictorian of our class. She was a soft-spoken girl with a beautiful laugh and was a great friend. She had a brilliant mind and was building a strong relationship with her mother when she died. Tragically, Beth never got over the abuse and emotional trauma she suffered at Mountain Park and in October of 2007, she took her own life. Another senseless tragedy brought about by the people who claimed to have wanted nothing more than to "save our lives". Beth will be dearly missed.
