Maia
Szalavitz
has written a book that has opened the door to the
corrupt world of "Teen Help" like few before
her have ever dared.
In
Help at Any Cost: How the Troubled-Teen Industry
Cons Parents and Hurts Kids, Ms. Szalavitz not
only deals with the torturing, cult-like aspect of
the gulag schools and boot camps, but also addresses
the issues that help keep them open: political cooperation
and support. Underhanded political and judicial support
have been key elements in keeping places like Mountain
Park and other "schools" alive in this country
for years.
